What Our Patio Cleaning Includes

Patios and alfresco areas are enclosed, furnished and usually attached to the house, which makes them a more careful job than an open driveway. There are walls to avoid overspraying, ceilings that collect cobwebs, and surfaces that will not tolerate full pressure.

How the Job Runs

Alfresco areas are full of things that do not want to be pressure washed. Getting a good result is mostly about knowing what to protect.

1. Assess & clear

We identify the surface — limestone, travertine, concrete, pavers or decking — and clear furniture, planters and anything loose out of the working area.

2. Protect

Power points, light fittings, outdoor kitchens, speakers and any timber that should not get soaked are covered or isolated before water goes anywhere near them.

3. Clean

Surface cleaned at appropriate pressure, with mould and algae in the shaded junctions treated rather than blasted. Ceiling and beams cleared of cobwebs.

4. Reset

Everything rinsed, drainage checked, furniture returned once the surface is dry, and photos sent through.

What It Costs

Patios are quoted on area and complexity. The area itself is usually modest — what drives the time is how much has to be moved, protected and hand-worked.

If the patio is being cleaned alongside a driveway or house wash, it is meaningfully cheaper to do together — we are already on site with the equipment set up. Ask for a combined quote rather than booking them separately.

Why Alfresco Areas Need Different Treatment

A patio is not just a smaller driveway. It is shaded, enclosed, often paved in softer stone, and it is attached to your house.

Shade grows mould

Alfresco areas spend most of the day in shade, and the wall junction stays damp. That is ideal for mould and black algae, which is why patios discolour faster than open paving despite getting less weather.

Soft stone damages easily

Limestone, travertine and sandstone are common in WA outdoor areas and they are porous and soft. Full pressure pits the surface permanently. These need low pressure and chemistry instead.

Overspray hits the house

Careless washing drives dirty water up render, into weep holes and against window seals. Working an enclosed area properly means controlling where the water goes, not just where the wand points.

Patio Cleaning FAQs

Yes, that is part of the job. We shift furniture, planters and the barbecue clear, clean underneath, and put everything back once the surface is dry. Very heavy built-in items we work around.

Yes, but not with high pressure. Limestone is soft and porous — blasting it pits the surface and that damage does not come back. We use low pressure with a treatment that lifts the growth chemically.

Yes, cobweb and dust clearing on the ceiling, beams and light fittings is included. It makes a bigger visual difference than most people expect, and it is the part everyone forgets.

Mould along the wall junction and up the render gets treated as part of the patio clean. If the whole house needs doing, that is our exterior house washing service and it is worth combining.

Yes, at low pressure and always along the grain. High pressure on decking raises the timber fibres and leaves a furry surface that then weathers badly. Decking needs a gentle wash, not a blast.

We cover edible plantings and rinse the surrounds afterwards. Tell us at quote stage if you have a veggie patch or herbs adjacent to the patio and we will plan the run-off accordingly.

Usually the same day. Concrete and pavers dry within a few hours in Perth weather. We replace the furniture once the surface is dry, so in most cases you can use it that evening.

We clean around and underneath them and protect them during the wash. Degreasing the barbecue itself is not part of a patio clean, though we are happy to work around it if you have cleaned it first.
